Plagiarism Guidelines

Jurnal Riset Informatika dan Komputer is committed to maintaining academic integrity and ensuring that all published manuscripts are original, properly attributed, and free from plagiarism. Authors are responsible for ensuring that their submissions comply with accepted standards of academic and publication ethics.

All submitted manuscripts may be screened for plagiarism or inappropriate textual similarity using appropriate plagiarism-detection tools. The screening process may be conducted during the initial manuscript assessment and, when necessary, at later stages of editorial processing.

1. Originality Requirement

Manuscripts must contain original work and must not reproduce substantial portions of previously published material without appropriate attribution and permission where required. Authors must ensure that the submitted work represents their own research and scholarly contribution.

2. Citation and Attribution

Ideas, statements, data, methods, figures, tables, or other materials derived from other sources must be appropriately cited. Direct quotations must be clearly identified, accurately reproduced, and accompanied by the relevant source citation.

3. Self-Plagiarism and Duplicate Content

Authors should not reuse substantial portions of their previously published work without clear disclosure, appropriate citation, and a legitimate scholarly reason. Manuscripts that substantially duplicate previously published or simultaneously submitted work may be subject to editorial action.

4. Similarity Screening

The Editorial Office may use plagiarism-detection software to identify similarities between the submitted manuscript and existing publications or online sources. A similarity report is used as an editorial assessment tool and does not by itself establish plagiarism, since legitimate citations, technical terminology, references, and commonly used expressions may also produce similarity.

5. Similarity Threshold

The journal generally expects manuscripts to have a similarity level of no more than 25%, excluding legitimate references, quotations, and other unavoidable similarities where applicable. A similarity score above the recommended threshold may require further examination and correction before the manuscript can proceed.

6. Editorial Action

If plagiarism, substantial unattributed copying, duplicate publication, or other forms of inappropriate textual reuse are identified, the Editorial Office may request clarification or revision, return the manuscript for correction, reject the submission, or take further action in accordance with the journal's publication ethics policies.

Author Responsibility

Authors are fully responsible for the originality and proper attribution of all content submitted to the journal. Before submission, authors should carefully check the manuscript, ensure that all sources are properly cited, avoid inappropriate reuse of previously published material, and revise any problematic similarities identified during the editorial process.
