Publication Process

Jurnal Riset Informatika dan Komputer follows a structured editorial and peer-review process to ensure that manuscripts meet the journal's scientific, ethical, and technical standards. Each manuscript is evaluated through several stages before the final editorial decision and publication process.

The overall publication process generally takes approximately 6–8 weeks. The actual duration may vary depending on manuscript completeness, reviewer availability, revision requirements, editorial assessment, production activities, and the responsiveness of authors and reviewers.

1. Online Submission

Authors submit the manuscript through the journal's online submission system. The submission should include the manuscript file, complete author information, and all required declarations and supporting documents.

2. Initial Manuscript Screening

The Editorial Office conducts an initial screening to assess the manuscript's relevance to the journal's scope, compliance with submission requirements, completeness, basic academic quality, plagiarism concerns, and adherence to the journal template. Manuscripts that do not meet the basic requirements may be returned to the authors for correction or declined before peer review.

3. Reviewer Selection

Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are assigned to qualified reviewers whose expertise is relevant to the subject of the manuscript. Reviewers are selected based on academic expertise, research experience, and the absence of relevant conflicts of interest.

4. Peer Review

The manuscript undergoes peer review to evaluate its originality, relevance, methodological soundness, scientific rigor, clarity of presentation, quality of results and discussion, references, and overall contribution to the field. Reviewers provide comments and recommendations to support the editorial decision.

5. Revision

When revisions are required, authors must carefully address the comments and recommendations provided by the reviewers and Editorial Office. Revised manuscripts should be submitted within the specified period together with a clear response explaining how each comment has been addressed.

6. Editorial Decision

Based on the reviewers' evaluations, the manuscript quality, and the authors' responses to revisions, the Editor makes the final editorial decision. Possible decisions include acceptance, minor revision, major revision, or rejection.

7. Copyediting and Production

Manuscripts that proceed to publication undergo editorial preparation and production. The process may include language editing, formatting, reference checking, metadata verification, layout preparation, and other technical checks required before publication.

8. Online First and Publication

After the final production process is completed, the article may be published online first before being assigned to its scheduled issue. The article is subsequently included in the appropriate journal volume and issue according to the journal's publication schedule.
