Initial Manuscript Screening

Initial Manuscript Screening
Every manuscript submitted to the Journal of Community Service and Application (JOCOSA) undergoes an initial editorial screening before being sent for peer review. The purpose of this stage is to determine whether the manuscript meets the basic requirements of the journal.
Scope and Relevance
The manuscript must fall within the aims and scope of JOCOSA and demonstrate relevance to community service, application, or related scholarly activities covered by the journal.
Manuscript Completeness
  • Title and author information are complete.
  • Abstract and keywords are provided.
  • Main manuscript sections are complete.
  • References are included and properly formatted.
  • Tables and figures are appropriately presented.
Originality and Similarity
Manuscripts may be checked using plagiarism detection software. JOCOSA applies a maximum similarity threshold of 20%. Manuscripts exceeding the permitted threshold may be returned to the authors for revision.
Screening Outcome
Following screening, a manuscript may be accepted for peer review, returned to the author for technical correction, or rejected if it clearly fails to meet the journal's basic requirements.
