Research Misconduct

The journal takes research misconduct seriously and is committed to maintaining the integrity, reliability, and credibility of the scholarly record. All authors are expected to conduct and report their research honestly, transparently, and in accordance with applicable academic, ethical, and professional standards.

Research misconduct includes, but is not limited to, fabrication, falsification, and plagiarism. Fabrication refers to making up data, results, or other research information that did not actually occur. Falsification refers to manipulating research materials, methods, data, images, results, or reporting in a way that misrepresents the research. Plagiarism involves using another person's ideas, words, data, or intellectual work without appropriate acknowledgment.

Other unacceptable practices may include inappropriate manipulation or selective reporting of data, duplicate or redundant publication, unethical authorship practices, undisclosed conflicts of interest, manipulation of citations, misuse of confidential information, and other actions that may compromise the integrity of the research or publication process.

Authors are responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the data and information presented in their manuscripts. Where necessary, authors should retain appropriate research records and be prepared to provide supporting information or clarification to the editor if questions arise regarding the integrity of their work.

If the journal receives an allegation or identifies a reasonable concern regarding possible research misconduct, the editorial team may conduct an initial assessment and request clarification or relevant documentation from the authors. Where appropriate, the matter may be referred to the authors' institution, research organization, ethics committee, or other competent authority for further investigation.

During an investigation, the journal may temporarily suspend the editorial or publication process associated with the manuscript. The journal will make reasonable efforts to ensure that allegations are handled fairly, confidentially, objectively, and without prejudging the individuals involved.

If research misconduct is confirmed or sufficiently established, the journal may take appropriate action depending on the seriousness and circumstances of the case. Such actions may include rejection of the manuscript, correction of the published article, publication of an expression of concern, retraction of the article, notification of the relevant institution, or other measures necessary to protect the integrity of the scholarly record.

The journal also recognizes that honest errors, differences in interpretation, or legitimate academic disagreements do not necessarily constitute research misconduct. Such matters will be distinguished from deliberate or negligent actions that compromise research integrity.

The journal encourages authors, reviewers, editors, and readers to report suspected research misconduct or other serious ethical concerns to the editorial office. All reports will be considered carefully and handled in accordance with established principles of publication ethics and responsible research conduct.
